This is EXACTLY the same issue I've encountered.
If they do somehow give us new serial numbers, what is going to stop this from happening again? Let me know if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing the school is going to say something along the lines of, "Sorry we can't do anything about CS6, but you still can use Creative Cloud." I don't see an outcome where the students will be happy. If the CS6 was already paid for, there would be no reason to do this unless there was a way to get some of that money back. This move would benefit both the school and Adobe, by giving the school a cheaper subscription for all of the students that would upgrade to CC. They were more as a bulk promotional code for a cheaper price.Īnother assumption is that these serial numbers were purposely invalidated to force students to upgrade to Creative Cloud. I can assume that the serial numbers were never perpetual. I can understand that when a student graduates, the school will no longer pay for their Creative Cloud, but this is CS6. Thank you all for the help and clearing up the cause of these circumstances. Welcome to Adobe Customer Service.Īmit: So you are getting a error that the serial number has expired for Master Collection CS6Īmit: May i get the serial number please? It looks like you are creating a package that places files in /tmp/Adobe_CC_License, then running this as a postinstall, is that right? Are the files getting placed correctly before the script runs?Īssuming the files are getting placed then we know the package is running.two questions:ġ) Are you using a. I believe PKGs can run scripts but DMGs can't so you will want to build it as a That looks like it should work. Rm -rf /tmp/Licence_CC_2015/ #deletes the Adobe Serialization package If then #checks if the Adobe serialization folder exists tmp/Licence_CC_2015/AdobeSerialization #runs the Adobe Serialization package Posted my complete script below:- #!/bin/sh The files will be "installed" in the tmp directory then the script will run.įor cleanliness you might want to delete the files once the licensing has finished so you can add a line to delete the files afterwards. Now select to "Build as PKG" and the resulting PKG can be run on your macs manually, using Casper Remote or using a policy to trigger. Within that script put the line /tmp/Licence_CC_2015/AdobeSerialization CMD+click or right click on "Scripts" and select "Add Shell Script" > "postinstall" (These are the files I get when building a serialization package - they aren't all needed for serializing Creative Cloud but included for completeness).Īnyway, on the left under sources, change the name of the workflow if required then click the arrow to the left of the workflow name to pop open a menu containing "Scripts", "Settings" and "Snapshots". For this example I will create a folder called /tmp/Licence_CC_2015/ and I will put the following files inside:- AdobeSerialization On the right, build a directory structure you want. It should create a new workflow under "Sources' with the name of the file or folder, containing the files. Hi Composer and instead of choosing "new" just drag the files or folders you need onto the left.
